HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BAG

A KONÉ bag is crafted to last, made from carefully selected, high-quality materials and designed to age beautifully over time. With minimal but mindful care, your bag will maintain its appearance and character for years to come.

All our leathers are sourced from a trusted tannery, Overlord in Tuscany, Italy. Due to their exceptional quality, no pre-conditioning is required before first use, your bag is ready to wear from day one.

STORAGE

Store your bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. When not in use, keep it in the provided dust bag to protect it from dust and scratches, also when carrying it in a bicycle basket or similar.

Avoid hanging your bag for extended periods, as this may affect its shape. Similarly, avoid overfilling, as it can stretch and distort the leather over time.

CLEANING

Gently wipe your bag with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and surface dirt on a regular basis. For light stains, use a slightly damp cloth and carefully clean the affected area. Avoid harsh chemicals, soaps, or alcohol-based products.

For styles such as the Albi bag in washed lamb leather, do not use soap or excessive water, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth.

We always recommend testing any cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it more broadly.

CONDITIONING

Occasional conditioning will help preserve the softness and longevity of the leather. Apply a high-quality leather conditioner every few months, or as needed.

Use a clean, soft cloth to apply in gentle circular motions. Allow the product to absorb before removing any excess with a dry cloth.

Avoid prolonged exposure to rain or high humidity. If your bag becomes wet, gently blot away moisture and allow it to air dry naturally, never place it near direct heat.

VITELLO, CROCO & RIO LEATHER

For minor scratches, a colour-matched leather balm can help reduce their appearance and restore the finish. These are typically available at local cobblers or specialty leather stores.

SUEDE

Suede is slightly more delicate, yet remains a durable and refined material. To maintain its appearance, gently brush the surface regularly using a soft brush suitable for suede. This helps lift the fibres and remove minor marks.

In humid conditions, we recommend applying a suede protector spray occasionally to help protect against moisture. For more noticeable spots, a suede cleaning mousse can be used. Apply gently and brush the surface afterwards to restore the texture.
