HOW TO TAKE BEST CARE OF YOUR BAG
When you invest in a handcrafted bag made from luxurious materials, it becomes a lifetime asset. However, proper care is essential to maintain its pristine condition for years to come. Here are some of our top tips for preserving longevity of your KONÉ bag.
STORAGE
Store your leather bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Use our dust bag to protect it from dust and scratches when not in use, or if you keep it in your bicycle basket on your way to work. Avoid hanging your bag for extended periods, and avoid overcrowding it with other items as it may distort the shape of the leather.
CLEANING
Regularly wipe your bag with a soft, dry cloth to remove surface dirt and dust.
For light stains, use a damp cloth with mild soap and gently wipe the affected area. Avoid using harsh chemicals or alcohol-based cleaners. If you have an Albi bag in washed lamb leather, do not use soap or water, simply wipe off with a damp cloth.
Always test any cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area of the bag before applying it to the entire surface.
CONDITIONING
Conditioning your bag every few months or as needed will help prevent drying and cracking of the leather. Apply a high-quality leather conditioner to keep it moisturized and supple. Use a clean, soft cloth to apply the conditioner evenly in small circular motions. Allow it to penetrate the leather for a few minutes before buffing off any excess with another clean cloth. Avoid exposing your leather bag to prolonged periods of rain or extreme humidity. If it does get wet, gently blot away excess moisture with a clean cloth and allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat.
